Forest Business

Forest Business

Responsibly managed, focusing on the welfare of the planet.

Our supplies to our Tannin and Wood Chips Plants come from our Forestry Unit. TANAC has approximately 23 thousand hectares of responsibly-managed plantations.

TANAC uses advanced technology to produce seedlings, conduct genetic research into improvements and has agreements with universities and forestry agencies which enable us to keep up with developments in the industry, and allows us to make significant improvements in productivity and quality in managing our forests.

As well as our forests, TANAC invests in improving the cultivation of Black Wattle; providing technical support and land leasing programs to  seedling producers and Black Wattle cultivators, disseminating techniques to improve the quality of the forests and adopt appropriate environmental management.

It is this sort of awareness that enables the company to create a future for generations to come, every day.

Forestry Development Program

We promote the economic and social growth of societies and the activity of Acacia Farming with rural producers.

As well as growing Black Wattle in our own forests, TANAC also invests in expanding the cultivation of Black Wattle in its communities through its Forestry Development Program with farmers.

The program provides assistance from TANAC’s Raw Materials department throughout the growth cycle of Black Wattle.

Those taking part in the program get various benefits:

  • Tanac guarantees to buy the wood and bark of the Black Wattle that they produce;
  • Supplies seedlings, fertilizer, general supplies etc.;
  • Top Quality Technical Support on Forestry.
  • Management and monitoring of the local fauna and flora.

Forestry Tenancy Program

We support the economic and social development of our communities, by leasing land to encourage the cultivation of Black Wattle by farmers. As well as growing Black Wattle in our own forests, TANAC also invests in expanding the cultivation of Black Wattle in its communities through its Forestry Development Program involving partnerships with farmers by leasing land for the cultivation of new forest. As part of this program, Tanac provides the following benefits to land-owners:

  • Monthly earnings;
  • Long-term contracts;
  • The opportunity to run it alongside livestock farming simultaneously;
  • The state of the soil is better preserved when it is used to grow Black Wattle;
  • All the nature around the property becomes more sustainable;
  • Management and monitoring of the local fauna and flora.

Forestry and Livestock Integration Program

By integrating livestock rearing within our forests, we help improve the environment.

The Forestry Unit has developed the integrated cultivation of Black Wattle on its plantations with livestock, to take advantage of the availability of the land for native pasture. Around 4500 head of cattle live within the Black Wattle Forests.

It is this sort of awareness that enables the company to create a future for generations to come, every day. Find out more: +55 51 99708.6232
